If George Steinbrenner had purchased any other ball club and applied the same aggressive win by any means style and went after and signed the best players he could field a team with. Would you hate that ball club? Yes or No?

With that being said it's Georege philosophy you hate and not the Yankees themselves. Do me a favor and stop going on and on about hating a team and it's players for no reason.

Yep - That said, the Red Sox are about to pass King George and the Yankees as #1 on the spend and lose list. Go Royals!

Yes, I would. But, it's not Steinbrenner and it's not the Yankees, so get over yourself.

What's maddening is that a few clubs can afford to buy the best players and are ALWAYS in contention for the playoffs and the World Series, and then there are small-market clubs who can't compete financially with the big boys and are NEVER in contention for the playoffs and the World Series. Granted, once in a great while some small-market team will catch lightning in a bottle and contend for one year, but that is very rare.

All we want is a level playing field with every team having the same chance to sign the best players and the best coaches, and then let the chips fall where they may.

I have nothing against Steinbrenner. I am a lifelong baseball fan who has never liked the Yankees. Why? Because generally they are amongst the best, at least for the last 10-12 years. Overall they are considered the best team in baseball becuase of all of their world championships. I give them credit for it but I still don't have to like them.
Being a fan of the Giants though, I hate the Dodgers far more than the Yankees.

Couldn't care less about Steinbrenner. I hate the Yankees because they beat the Dodgers in 1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1977, and 1978.

And the Dodgers only beat them in 1955, 1963, and 1981.

The Yankees elicit reliable thoughts from the two people who like and dislike the franchise. that's faulty to assert the rationalization the Yankees are hated is via jealousy or envy. Jealousy and envy are born out of a want to wish to be like the element or man or woman you're jealous or resentful of. conversing for myself, I have no want to be like the Yankees. i did no longer like schoolyard bullies while i became a little one, i do in comparison to ability-hungry human beings as an grownup. As a generalization, their followers do no longer help the two, no longer that they care. There seems to be a gaping hollow interior the psyche of their followers it is normally filled via good sportsmanship. Their air of conceitedness is easily off-putting. in basic terms examine the typical public of solutions from Yankee followers in Yahoo! solutions. i be attentive to it is not a scientific survey, even with the incontrovertible fact that it actual is telling. even while their team loses, lots of yank followers will no longer be able to deliver themselves to credit the different men. Jealous of that? want to be like that? No thank you. To be honest that's authentic the Yankees play in the guidelines. no longer something they do is illegitimate, yet whoever says it does not harm the sport isn't paying interest. The NFL has dealt with monetary parity and that they've a perfect product wherein it isn't the size of the pockets however the abiltiy of the enterprise which brings success. interior the NFL any team can win because of the fact all of them initiate on a point taking part in field (no pun meant). the certainty that baseball will no longer be able to get their finanical act is not any fault of the Yankees, however the sport would be extra applicable served if issues have been distinctive.

I was born a Red Sox fan so I was born hating the Yankees. But I love Derek Jeter. He plays the game right and hes the best leader in baseball. That being said, as much as I like him I need to hate him because hes the leader of the Yankees. I dont like A-rod cause hes a cheater and a cry baby. Besides Arod the only other 2 Yankees I dont like are matsui and posada. Theres just something about them that i dont like.

no. im not a huge fan of steinbrenner, but with that being said, just because i dont like interpretive dance doesnt mean i cant appreciate it and respect the people who work hard to do their job. i hate the fans and the city. i hate the little ****** who reached over the wall in the '97 alcs and grabbed the ball over tony tarrascos head. a-rod is a jerk that slaps baseballs out of peoples hands and doesnt produce to his capability, just collects his paycheck. jeter is a good player, but he is cocky beyond belief and is very overrated. he has been surrounded by good players all of his career. george is ok in my book but i am sure no matter what team he purchased he would be disliked.

Ekimo, The Yankees won three straight series in 98, 99, and 2000. That was 9 years ago. Plus, they've made the playoffs every year.
