Lime by itself will not normally kill moss. What it will do is make it harder to come back once you have killed it. Moss likes acid, shade and moisture. If you can get rid of 2 of the 3 you have a good chance of it not coming back--and like it said in your first answer, lime neutralizes acid over time.

You can go to a good L&G Center and get Scotts Moss Control Granules and put it down with a spreader if it's all throughout your grass. If it's just in spots Safer makes a liquid Moss Killer that you just spray on the moss. If they don't carry Safer brands ask the tech what other liquid moss killers they carry.

I think spreading lime is the way to do it. It raises the ph of the soil and moss likes acid soil.
