I want to be with the same sex for the same reason you want to be with the person you want to be with. When you first found yourself attracted to someone I doubt if you checked God's law to see if it was okay (errrr - did you?). It's something I've known since I first had sexual feelings toward someone. I'm sure you have love in your life that you are willing to give up "all" for. Same with me - I gave up God.
If there is a God and he created me - he created me gay. It makes no sense that the same God divinely inspired the Bible to be written condemning me. It's a chance I'm more than willing to take - I would prefer burn in Hell, than to deny my relationship and the love I have in it!
I know you probably won't understand, but I think you'll try. I've read some of your past posts and you appear to be a pretty understanding person. And no - I don't think you were trying to offend.

Well, you've already read into the Bible something that just isn't there. It's a fallicy that many people end up caught in.
The Bible talks of Sodom and Gamora but it's not because the men tried to rape men, it's because of the general rampant sin throughout the city(ies). That was "the last straw" as it were.
The Bible mentions that men shall not lay with men and everyone who supports the Bible as the end-all beat-all of truth and righteousness believe that and follow that with no question about it validity - yet, the Bible also states, very, very clearly that a man shall NOT shave his beard!!! I'm sorry that I don't know the verse or chapter, but I have read it myself along with many, many other passages (coming from a Catholic upbringing). There are many things that we aren't supposed to do, yet only those that benefit the religious beliefs of those in power at the moment are the passages that are followed and preached.
As for disobeying... well, that is a matter of conjecture and purely subjective in context. You see, you state that God made man and woman, not just one sex, and then follow it up with anyone that doesn't follow this reference is "disobeying God and his law". Unfortunately, you may not realize one very vital fact. God made us, too. He made gay men and lesbian women the way we are - gay and lesbian. Did he mean for us not to reproduce? Perhaps. Is it his intention to have us suffer more than straight folks? To bear the burden of being chastized and troddened upon? Are we actually the meek who shall inherit the earth? After all, this is akin to the slave trade in the world (also in the US circa civil-war era). Many Christian groups think that gay people are unequal and unworthy of love, acknowledgement and rights.
I'm sorry if this comes off as being rude, I'm not trying to be. When explaining why a man or woman feels a sexual compassion and desire for another human being of the same sex - especially when there are SOOO many instances where this is explained by sooo many people over and over and yet it's asked again and again... it does get a little personal and we tend to be rather defensive. I hope this helps.

I am who I am!
I fall for people of the same sex; this means I am gay!
Since I was born this way I assume God had a reason to make me this way...
So I don' t disobey God nor his law...
And since I'm a Christian but no longer a Catholic, I don't really take notice anymore what those self righteous people say in church...
But you clearly still believe (in) them so here is a question for you : why don't you obey the law of God? Didn't he say "thou shall not judge"? And what do you think you are doing now?

Just take a second to imagine, what if the Bible had said that women were only supposed to be with other women. Blasphemous I know but this is a hypothetical scenario. You however are still the same person you are right now, attracted to men, and the idea of being with a woman is still "wrong" and icky-feeling in your mind. What on earth would you do?

Well for one thing the God i believe in doesnt have a problem with people of the same sex being together. Love is love and as long as the two people involved are happy and good for each other, how can that be wrong in any God's eyes.

I'm not religious and barely know much about the bible, but according to this fairy tale God created Adam and Eve. So how did their children pro-create, did their children have sex with each other and so on, so forth? Sounds pretty wicked that their offspring would be into incest....but who am I to judge?

Let's say that the bible says that liking the color blue is a sin. Will that stop people from liking it? No. They will like it, whether in denial, in secret, or if they come out and risk persecution, they will like the color blue and not be able to help it.
It's the same thing with liking the same gender. It's simply not a matter of making one's self not like it. It's a personality thing that is a part of them.
I hope this makes things a little clearer.

Actually, yes you are putting others down for not believing as you do.
Your belief is not the only one out there nor is it the most important.
My religious belief doesn't have a problem with who I love or the fact that I choose not to produce children.
