SOLVENTS!!! If E6000 glue smells solid like paint thinner then it contains solvents which will dissolve plastic and coatings positioned on rhinestone. If the case is a puzzling, non-flexing case a extra appropriate wager could have been a 2 area epoxy. It holds properly and would not dissolve plastics, in basic terms determine you get the glue on the gem and not in common terms on the bright backing of the rhinestone, I even have considered the rhinestone come off and circulate away the bright lower back coat.

I would use stick on rhinestones, super glue or fingernail glue, I dont' see how any of those could hurt your phone, they're made for uses such as that. I've also seen Ipods done that way.

Sometimes, you can buy rhinestones that don't use glue, because it might damage your phone. Maybe buy some in Target or Walmart. But if you don't want to use that, your best choice would be a drop of Elmers or some hot glue.

Get a heat glue gun with the hottest glue they sell. That should give you about a few years of use.
