Want to know what brand would be best(was looking into the Vaio).Something affordable about $500-700 range.Using alot for just email,pictures and maybe music. Any advice please!

i strongly STRONGLY suggest that you get a mac... i have the MAC OS X and it is amazing! it is alllll about music, photos, vids, email... it has everything! you can do anything with it! totally in the price range.. and also very efficent! macs are WAY better than PC's... trust me, ive had them for two years and its made a BIG difference to my life! im ALWAYS ALWAYS on it! :) hope i helped!

For that range.. I'd look at Acer laptops. You'll get the most bang for your buck. Acer can have its problems occaisionally, so do some searches on the model that you consider. The only problem I've heard about with some models is heat.

This one would be excellent for your needs, and it comes with a good processor. However, you'd probably want to add more memory to it for Vista

Any in that price range should be OK for general use, including the Macs mentioned above. IF, you can find one with Windows XP, it may be best. Visa Basic will only receive 5 years life support and XP was to lose support in 2009, but, was extended to around 2014.

a great laptop would be an hp notebook, only 499.99$ with windows vista basic. its jus for everyday computing. check out this link, i have this laptop and im answering on it now, its a reallly good choice, trust me, when it comes to hp, they sell quality products. sony and dell jus sell their brandname, not the product. i hope i helped, and another thing, u can customize this laptop to ur liking, u cant do that with sony. it also comes with a free upgrade for ram i think. http://www.shopping.hp.com/series/category/notebooks/C500T_series/3/computer_store?jumpid=in_r329_personalization/browse3/home_SDP
