I know it's possible to become pregnant again after having the baby, before your period returns. How likely is this to happen within the first 6 weeks after baby? I'd like to hear from those who have had this experience. Thanks in advance.

My first son was 4 weeks old when I got pregnant. I found out I was pregnant when he was a month and a half old. My second son was born the day my first turned 11 months old. IT is very possible and very hard on your body, mind and soul. I am now pregnant with twins and I honestly can say it is easier to just have them both at the same time, then to have them one right after another, lol.

I got pregnant 8 weeks after having my son. So he and my daughter are very close in age, just like peas and carrots!

You can get pregnant before you see a period. It just happens that way with some women because your cycles are a little irregular after birth.

A good and natural method if you need to postpone a pregnancy is Natural Family Planning. It's basically fertility awareness and it's super cheap and dad participates too. No pills to take no condoms to wear.

This is why you are supose to avoid sex to heal your body for the 6 weeks. It is more likly to happen because you just had a baby than if you didn't just have a baby. Your hormones are perfect for getting pregnant again right after. Call your dr and make an apt.

Its very likely!! That is why you are not to have sexual intercourse for 6 wks after having a baby. I personally haven't had this experience but had a close friend who did, and when she went for her 6 wk checkup, she was already pregnant again! So if you choose not to follow your Dr.'s orders, better take extra precaution!

I am exclussively BF and had not had a peiod yet and was n the mini-pill...which is not as effective a the regular pill but for BF thats what I have to use. I didn't really know until I was already 10 weeks along and went into see my dr. b/c i had a pos. HPT and he did and ultrasoud and there was no heartbeat. So yes I was preg. right away but it ended in MC.

Not personally, but my Mom got pregnant with my brother 6 weeks after my other brother was born. They are 11 months apart. It's crazy. She didn't realize she was pregnant for a few months. It was quite the shock for her.

I waited 2 years before getting pregnant again, but my cousin found out she was pregnant at her 6 week check up.

I've heard that you are actually more fertile after having a baby. Personally, I couldn't fathom sex for those first 6 weeks because I was still trying to heal, but that was just me. I would use a condom unless you are actively trying to conceive.
