Yes, bettas do see in color. Their eyes do have both rods and cones and allow them to see colors. As to what color food they prefer, I can't say that I have ever seen a study on that question or even seen it addressed anywhere. That could be a fun experiment.

This is an interesting question, however just like kids and candy, what you feed is more important than what it looks like (or even tastes like).

Bettas are basically carnivores and need aquatic based proteins that are easily assimilated. Many popular Betta foods such as Tetra BettaMin are too high in cereals and poor sources of fish protein such as Fish Meal (which is the left over fish parts from human processing) vs. Whole Fish meal or White fish meal.

Yes Betta's see color but I do not know of any food for them that comes colorful...

Betta food doesn't come in colors, so it's not an issue.

I have read that bettas see in color
I have had bettas for about seven years and mine always prefer the red pellets in "tetraMin tropical granules" I tried other food but they eem to like it best. pluse it is formulated for bettas so they stay heathly.
