I never had high blood pressure before I was pregnant, but developed gestational hypertension which is a fancy way of saying pregnancy induced high blood pressure. It was something I had to watch, because it could have hurt me in the long run. I was actually on bed rest when I was 8 months pregnant for a couple of days and went to the doctor and they admitted me to the hospital to monitor me. I was in for a week and then they decided to induce me. I had my son at 36 weeks and he was healthy as a horse, but they were more worried about my health since I had been on bed rest and it was up. I am pregnant again and this time I am going to walk to help lower my blood pressure and hopefully it wont affect me this time. I think you should ask your doctor before you conceive to see what your best bet is. Good luck to you!!

You really need to talk to your doctor about that. Only a doctor can tell you if you are healthy enough to handle another pregnancy. I know high blood pressure can be a problem in pregnancy.

my 1st I didnt have high blood pressure, but with this pregnancy I have - it just means they keep a eye on you and will proabbly get appointments on a regualr basis to see a specialist at the hospital. I am high risk anyway so have to see a midwife every 2 weeks - to check for pre-eclamsia etc..
dont worry - ask your gp before you ttc to see what they recommend but i'm sure it wont be a problem
