I am currently in a temp job and I have been here for 5 months. I left another temp job previously to come and work this one. Now I am currently looking for another job because of my uncertainty with this one, i need more money and I would like a little bit more sercurity with my work and things seem to be changing all the time with the one that I am currently with. I am meeting with someone from another temp agency to go over some positions that he has for me and if something comes up that I like that is offering me more money, should I take it or stay with the one that I have now? Please help!!

I do prefer a Perm job but everytime I fill out for those positions or career builder or other such things, the ones who contact me first are usually Temp Agencies. If a normal job with benefits contacted me, I would jump on it with out a doubt but unfortunetly temps are the only thing that seem to be floating my way.

Why are you sticking to Temp services?? You have the experience. Look through the classifieds and find a permanent position.

I am kind of in a similar situation. I have a temp job now ending in a week. I have applied to tons of places and havent gotten any offers. The agency found me another job that payed a bit more but really isn't what I want and I am unsure of the atmosphere. But, I need a job, and this agency will find another job for me if I choose I dont like this new one without penalty.

I would say a permanent position is best if you can find one. I didnt want to continue this temp thing, but as of now I have no other options. If you feel the future job is a better fit and pays what you need, I would take it. As long as you are not locked into the temp job for a certain amt of time and if you quit before that time you are hit with a large fee I'd say do it. I'm trying to tell myself this: Nowadays nothing is permanent, no job is 100% secure. So you have to go where you think is best for you at the time, you arent locked into a job forever. You can always take this job, and keep looking for a perm one.

If you are looking for security, I think you should stop relying on temp agencies to find jobs. Temp means temporary, not permanent or secure. You're better off interviewing directly with employers for permanent, full time work with benefits.

take the new one if you like it more, especially if it pays more. Theirs nothing worst then being at a job your not happy with. Take it from me im looking for a new one, and have a interview tomorrow. Ive never gone through a temp agency, do you get fourty hours a week and benefits?

If you want security, you should look beyond the temp. job market. Temporary jobs are, by nature, insecure and not usually very lucrative. They do meet some requirements, but offer very little benefit or long term security.

It's most important that you are happy with your place of employment, so if you feel another job would make you happier and be more stable for you then go for it. Even if the "new" job doesn't pay more, you can't put a price on happiness and having a piece of mind.

I think it's time to look for a career, and not a job. Find something that you really enjoy, and stick with it. There are so many possibilities out there, you just have to know where to look. Good luck with your search.
