'Coward of the Country' is funny, cant remember who by

Simon and Garfunkel, particularly Paul Simon as a musician, are legends and in my opinion unbeatable, however they go alongside Dylan (Bobby's an obvious one, ain't he!?!) in being progressive and revolutionary with country influence/background/technique

Speaking of Bob Dylan, among his most respected influences are Woody Guthrie and Johnny Cash (by the way, the famous song 'Hurt' which he covered just before he died, was actually a cover of the Nine Inch Nails song - an 80s industrial band, the most unlikely source, but an incredible piece nonetheless)

'Cotton-Eye Joe', donnoh bout the original, but theres some intresting techno-country mixes out there that are real fun

Try Rod Zombie too

Check out 'Tracey Brennecke', an old music teacher of mine, shes got some good tunes and even better lyrics, plus she once sold a pop song to S Club 7 (which they never used), but she finds that more of an insult than a high in her career... She's a totally country and western English girl
Her single is called 'First to Know' and she has another wonderful hit 'Alibi'... unfortunately she's still small time, its all about contacts and networking, not necessarily talent these days, isn't it...

Anyways, hope you enjoy ;-)
