I love listening to old people talk about back in their younger days.I don't have my grandma anymore but I still remember all the cool stories she passed down on to us.

Well as much as we all hate stories that start with that and know it's going to turn into a lecture but I stick it out. If the person doesn't go off on me the story usually turns out pretty good and you can learn from it.
If the person does start to lecture me I turn it into a debate- not an argument- a debate.

Most of the time I CAN'T get away so I just sit there and listen. Some of those stories can actually be pretty amusing!

I always say to them "in ur days it was different but these days things have changed". If that doesn't work then I run before I get a long lecture
