MCR are my favorite band, and I was talking with a friend the other day, and she says she dosn't like them because they are "dark, evil and promote cutting and suicide". I was really shocked when I heard this, I knew the media had said some horrid things about them, but I didn't think any believed it...
I personaly think thier amazing and inspirational, and you only need to read a few of thier lyrics to see that there very against suicide and things. Plus any MCR fan knows how amazing and caring the band members are..
I was just wondering if you feel the same way as my friend, or know anyone that does? I'm just curious as to how different people view MCR.

I'm not an "obnoxious trend follower" by the way. I get a hard time at school and things just for liking MCR, so please, no comments like that...

i don`t think mcr are "evil", that`s just a load of bulls**t perpetrated by people who are conservative & narrow-minded, & like to stereotype & generalize everything & everybody...

MCR writes tons of songs against suicide. They don't even talk about cutting. They may be dark, or they were, before The Black Parade, but that's just cause Gerard was dark.
To quote his own words "We are not a ******* suicide cult."
Anyways, MCR is awesome and has probably stopped plenty of people from killing themselves, and the people who hate them are simply misinformed or biased.

I also like MCR and haven't heard anything about them being evil that just sounds real stuipd.

They are 'emo' yes. Evil? Not sure. I wouldn't exactly call emos evil but I don't like them, and I don't like MCR.

They're an okay emo-glam-pop band. Their fans are obnoxious trend-followers. They are not evil, however, and anyone who says so hasn't heard their music.

No, I don't think they're evil. Gerard's been through a lot and the last thing he's trying to promote is suicide.

i wouldn't say evil, just emo. i like them and i usually dont like hardcore emo bands.

i dont think they're "evil." but then again, they certainly aren't "gospel." they are an emo-punk band, they arent evil though.
