You need to talk to a La Leche League Leader about the pump. Maybe you are doing something wrong or something isn't connected right, etc. Get some help so you can use the pump. (What kind of pump is it?) LLL will help you FOR FREE and may be willing to visit you at home as well!

When you put her down to sleep, do you swaddle her? That might help her sleep longer.

Wear her in a sling and do things that way. She can sleep or nurse or just hang out in the sling while you're cleaning or whatever it is you need to do.

Try putting her down in a carseat or swing instead of in the crib. Maybe the more enclosed space will give her the sensation that she is still being held that way.

my daughter was the same way! she was with me ALL the time! she didn't like to be with anyone but me. about 3 weeks before i was scheduled to return to work, I had her be with the person who was going to care for her for a few hours a day, so my baby could get used to being with her. by the time i had to go back to work, she was fine! I have not had any problems, since! i put my daughter in her swing or bouncer if I need to get something done quickly. she usually lasted about half an hour at a time in them. Good Luck!

Try getting a swing. My kids all loved the swing. It gave me some time off and they drifted off to sleep. She IS going to have to get used to other people holding her if you are going back to work though. It is ok to let her cry for a little bit if someone else is holding her. She is just used to you all the time.

This is a normal phase that about one in every four babies goes through. It decreases between three and four months of age. Treatment involves lots of patience and tender loving care. It WILL get better.

pumps are very different and you may need different sized 'horns' to express the milk...really, only a IBLC can help you with that....call your insurance carrier, sometimes they will cover the cost of seeing an LC....as for getting stuff done...there isnt a mother in the world who found the time to do EVERYTHING she felt she needed to do....lower your standards!
