I used to work in hospitals and nursing homes, whenever I came across something important or some minor things. I would write on my left hand near the thumb in a hurry. As a nurse, I had to wash hands many many times in a day, so whenever I washed my hands, I would not forget those things.
I do not work as a nurse now, but I still write important things if a paper is not handy.
My daughter also writes on her hands for fun, I don’t think there is a problem as long as she washes her hands afterwards.

Yes, I occassionally write on my hands. Sometimes, my job calls for it. I do this especially at times when there are no scratch papers on hand and I need to write down the info asap so as not to forget it later. Since I write with my right hand, my left palm is always the victim of my scribbles.
As for what pens I use, it's the ordinary ballpoint pen. I hesitate to use pentel pens or signing pens because these have wetter inks and therefore tend to scatter throughout the palm skin. As you know, the human palm also has grooves and lines much like your fingerprints. A very wet ink will scatter through these lines, ultimately making the written text disfigured, and worse, unrecognizable.
Whenever I get home from work, I make sure that I wash and scrub my hands so as to erase what was written on my hand. Of course, I would first make sure that I had already copied it to a piece of paper (if it's a telephone number) or that I had already executed it (if it's an instruction.)

Personally I don't, but I've seen both men and women do this at work frequently (every freakin' day)...writing down stuff to remember (many of them are management as well--not new people.) It's not something I particularly WANT to see at work, because why not just get a piece of paper or small notepad rather than being a total slob and writing stuff on your hands? (I should add these people always use INK as well to write on hands--as a pencil is pretty impossible.) Now think about it--how much time do these people waste cleaning the ink off their hands in the bathroom DAILY--assuming they clean it off at all. Also, what happens if they ever have to shake a hand of someone--or handle products with ink on their hands--yuck.
Some places I've worked for would never tolerate this at all...it depends on the job

When I was working, I used to write things down on the palm of my hand all the time. I was a deisel mechanic and my boss would walk by and give me truck numbers and things to do, so I'd just write them on the palm of my left hand so I couldn't lose it or forget it. I wrote with a ballpoint pen and would scrub my hands at the end of the day before going home. It washed off with the heavy duty soap mechanics use. I always got everything on the list done obviously because I couldn't lose the list. Pretty bad, huh? But, it worked for me.

I'll write on my hand sometimes. When i was younger my dad would always scold me as i would get "ink poisioning"
Since school I havn't wrote on my hands really all that much. During school I'd write on the top about what homework to bring.
During work (as a cashier if i needed something) i would write on the inside as it was information for me only.
Typically i would only write on my hands when i had no paper, when i was in school it was kinda to be cool!
black pens, a few days.

Yes, all the time actually. I have a bad memory and it helps if i write things down. I usually write on the back of my hand, so that it is in constant sight, and won't rub off. Usually i use a ball-point pen, because they're the most available. It usually stays there until i wipe it off.

All the time. I have the worst memory so it helps me to remember the things I need to do that day. Since its right there there's no way to forget. I write on the side of my left hand near the thumb. I use any ballpoint pen. It stays on till i scrub it off.

No it's something that was a big "no,no" when I was growing up,if my mom saw ink on our hands for any reason we never heard the end of it....and we were asked to scrub up til it was gone and ya know what I'm glad, however sometimes I will write someones telephone number on the palm of my hand if I have no paper, otherwise draw and express yourself on paper.because ink all over your hands looks dirty and tacky.(OMG what a prude!!) oh well......

I admit that I hand write letters basically particularly not often. it fairly is not in basic terms the difficulty of writing on paper (no spell verify) yet additionally the issue of looking postage, and getting it to a mail field. additionally, there is the postpone interior the transport -days vs seconds. I do think of that each and all the correspondence for a ideal social amassing might desire to be hand written, from the invitation to the thank-you notes.
