Seeing as you ask, laughable. I mean, it's only a work of fiction anyway ! ! !

If only all atheist were as respectful as u were in the way u asked the Q! U felt no need to be condescending or insulting. I for one appreciate that everyone has different views, I believe we all hv the rt to express those views but not in a manner that attacks others. Especially now, during Holy week, I am grateful that u so nicely asked n stated what u did. Thank u!
I don't think I would use the word "genius" to describe Jesus but instead simply a man of God. I believe in the Bible..period.

Once upon a time, there was an enlightened person known as Jesus. He spoke many wise & spiritually enlightened things. Because of the nature of the world he lived in, he phrased his wisdom in words and images that his fellow men & women could understand. And then, over the past 2,000 years, we have mangled and misunderstood much of his wisdom.
Jesus was, IMHO, another boddhisatva... and his followers confused the man with the message... This kind of thing happens all too often

I'm opening up Pandora's Box here, but Jesus was deified by men. It was decided at a council. Take the bible for what it was meant as: a parable. Taking it as solid fact would be like reading Fight Club and taking it as the gospel. It's merely a story (or a series in the case of the bible) that reflects certain beliefs of the author(s).

My personal opinion is that either Jesus is a fictional character *or* he existed, but stories were told about him in a creative manner.
I think the Bible was created to encourage people to believe in God and to live Christian lives. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing - if faith makes you a better person, then it's great.
I'm agnostic - so I'm undecided on this one. But I think the Bible is mostly fictional.

I'm an atheist too, but I think Jesus was one of the greatest people ever who lived on this planet. I would love to have known him and had long philosophical discussions with him. The religious chaps just don't get him at all. He preached love and forgiveness. And da vinci code or no da vinci code, I think he had a bit of a thing for mary magdalene!

notpoodle is correct in the respect of the word, Jesus has been wrongly depicted as a white man. Last I knew middle eastern men were of darker skin.

Jesus is the Son of God, Lord and Savior of my life. Without Him, I would be dead now literally speaking. I am thankful I have eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord and I am thankful he died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. Jesus Christ is the source of my joy and peace. Christ has delivered me from pain, suffering, and trials I have endured in the past. Jesus has helped me to repent from my sins. I love Jesus Christ with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength. My friend, Jesus loves you as well and has His free gift of salvation to offer to you as well.

I think Jesus was a real person, I just think he was the David Blaine of 2000 years ago.

I think that, although certainly the Bible has been altered a few times throughout the course of Christian history, God would not allow His Word to be altered drastically. Jesus himself was an average man: it was the fact that he was the Son of God which made him unique.
