Well thats very wrong to defame an animal like a donkey which is more like a Saint or a Sage.

Just observe a donkey closely and you will find all the Saintly qualities in it. Like a Sage or a Saint, it minds its own business, doesn't bother to move for its place till its wants too what may come, not bothered about its looks which is shabby and ugly. Most of the time one sees a Donkey Meditating for hours together on the streets and minding its own business. I wonder why people feel abusive when called a Donkey. I would like to ask all those who feel abusive, if they can do all that a Donkey does with such a feeble body structure?

Why snake is called snake, why elephant is called elephant... do we have reasons for all this...? No, we just go with the flow...

However its the nature of donkey... that makes him a thing of fun or sometimes an abuse... depends on how we take it....

Donkey is the animal, who never use its brain... it is used by the people who just need physical work from him (like while in construction of a building we see donkeys carrying loads of bricks, sand, etc)... its nothing wrong with him, its just him... that's why when someone works very hard we call it as "Gadha-Majoori" means Hard Labour like donkey... that's it...

we can differentiate between... A dog and a Cat.... Dog is more affeionate than Cat... when cat is reffered we think of cleverness, when dog is reffered we think of affection, love... a dog never uses its brain when it comes to love they have for us, so does that make a dog a donkey... NO...

If we feel bad when someone call us donkey, then it depends on us, about how we take it and tackle it... u have to preserve ur pride... if u feel bad when someone calls u donkey, just tell him/her not to... be frank... i'm sure they will apologise (may be they didn't meant to make u feel bad)....

don't let anyone hurt u, for such a small reason...

B'coz a donkey is a most cursed animal and outcast by the society. It is only used by the society to carry heavy weight of used clothes which are about to get washed. Since it's being treated as most lowered thing, no one wishes to be called with a name carrying prefix donkey.

It is natural to feel insulted when one is compared with donkey. Donkey is an animal who does not have the power of dicision making and and it never react with the situation. it nly knows to obey the order. It never uses its budhi. Only man have the power to make decisons and we react to the environment very sensibly and never allow any nonsense to happen with us from anyone. Also we controll our chaning mind with our budhi. So this is the real quality of a man to control the mind with the biudhi. Animals don't have that. So naturally when you call some one donkey , he or she gets angry because your telling that you are fool or you don't have budhi. That is the the emotional and psychological part of the insult.

A donkey is considered foolish and though it is a cousin of a horse is employed for lowly jobs of carrying dirty clothes for a washerman. So, if one is called a donkey, one feels insulted. If one is called a race horse, a thoroughbred or a stud, one feels happy.
