Descartes would say it is the first thought in that the surest proof of our existence is that our thoughts exist regardless of our physical being and touch others demonstrating that we exist by relationship to our thoughts and others.

Spinoza would say that the secnd thought is correct in that thinking is only an action like posessing or walking. It already is a relationship. Having assumes that there is something to be had and thinking assumes that knowledge is real and obtainable. He would argue that you have to prove existence before you can prove you exist.

As for me I go with the Popeye theory on existence.

Sum ergo Sum.

I am therefore I am.

Basically, I exist because I exist and if i don't exist then I don't exist. It is tant amount to saying seeing is believing and you don't believe your own eyes then nothing I can do or say will change that fact for you.

A. I think, therefore I am.

The power of the mind is one of the greatest, and often most underestimated, powers on earth. We are what we perceive ourselves as. These thoughts can be influenced by others but ultimately what we hold true in our mind is what reality truley is for that individual.

A.

everything lies in your mind. the way you think decides the way you are because it decides how you perceive something. it builds up your conscience it makes you a better person if you think the right way if your think about everything negatively you go the wrong way...and on top of that the sentence A decides the sentence B. if you think you have it...then only you can have it...and that decides what you are.

I re-thinked my answer because I think if they are both combined it will prove to be successful.

B:'Cause just because you think you're something it certainly doesn't make you that person. But if you have it seems more likely that you are.

A: Sometimes if you are to think about it, you can transform yourself into it by using positive energy and willing it on.

A.

It just make better sense. Just because you have doesn't mean you are. I can bury a valued possesion with a deceased loved one and they "have" it, but it doesn't mean they are. (Does that make sense?)
