I have been having alot of problems with my period. Well lately it doesn't seem like a period at all. Lately it just seems like I'm gushing blood. This is a serious question and nothing to joke about. I have been changing my tampon like once every hour or every two hours. I am afraid that I may be losing to much blood. And it seems like there is some clotting as well. My stomach is cramping bad too. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? Do you think that that is too much blood to lose?

YOu really should see a doctor to find out why you are bleeding. But I will speak from my own experience: How old are you? The reason I ask is because this sounds alot like something I had called Uterine Fibroids. Uterine fibroids are the most common, benign tumors in women of childbearing age, but no one knows exactly what causes them. They can be frustrating to live with when they cause symptoms that include pain and heavy menstrual-type bleeding. Fibroids also can put pressure on the bladder, causing frequent urination.

The good thing is that fibroids are treatable! See your gynecologist to see what treatment is appropriate for you.

I have these problems too for the 1st 3 days of my period. I can go through a big box of Tampons in 2 days. My DR. said that as you go through life it will change. Since I turned 30 it has lessened a bit. You need to try taking ibuprofen twice a day. It slows it down. You could go have a check up. They can easily determine if you have Endometriosis or anything else.

I am no doctor. However, this sounds like something I've heard of before although I cant remember the technical name for it. I would definately advize you to keep track of when your period begins/ends and how heavy it is for the next month or two. I also suggest that you talk to your family doctor who can be of far more assistance. If you think that there is something wrong then definately check it out b/c you know your body and how it should act better than anyone else. Cheers!

You should definitely see your GYN. Particularly if the blood is bright red, which could mean bleeding from a ruptured blood vessel. Heavy periods are one thing, but the possibility of an ovarian cyst, internal injury (?), and the like requires medical attention.

The doctor told me that if you change every 30 mins is too much so you are ok. Maybe you need a D&C

do you feel faint or dizzy? if you do you need to get to your d.r asap. try to wear a pad for a day to let the blood come out since a tampon pushes your blood back inside it tends to clot and make you cramp badly. try this it helps me.

You need to contact your doctor. Especially if this isn't normal for you. Every woman is different when it comes to this, but since this is just "lately" I wouldn't take any chances and contact your PCP or OB/GYN.
