2x + 3 = 9x
2x + 3 - 2x = 9x - 2x
3 = 7x
3 / 7 = 7x / 7
3 / 7 = x

If your equation is 2x + 3 =9 then your answer is 3...to get there you subtract 3 from both sides (2x +3 -3 = 9-3) and you have 2x = 6 then divide both side by 2 (since 2x means that x is multiplied by 2) and that will leave you with x=3
Hope that is helpful =)

2x+3=9x Write the problem
-3=-3 Subtract 3 from both sides
2x=9x-3 the 3-3 cancel out
-9x -9x -9x from both sides so you cancombine like terms
7x=3 Which would with this
/7 /7 Divide by 7
x=3/7 Heres your answer

Put all of the x's on the same side.
9x-2x=3
Factor out x
x(9-2)=3
x=3/(9-2)=3/7

your answer is 6
2x + 3 = 9
-3 -3 subtract 3 from both sides
2x= 6 now divide both sides by 2
x= 3 You object is to get x by itself on either side of the equal sign!!! good luck!
