my mom humilliated her this morning telling her lots of stuff that really hurt my fiancee. Why are there some people who can not forgive others easily if life is short and it is much better if you take all grudge and hatred out your heart? Now, I am between the wall and the sword and I do not what to do because my fiancee does not want to see my mother's face anymore and I had a fight with my mother because of all this. I feel so depressed now....

This is your problem ... not your mom's. Emotional dependency makes us follow (being silent is following) our moms instead of standing up for 'Us': your relationship with your fiance.

Get on the phone with your Mom and confront her, and reassure your fiance that you are for her.

Stand up to your mom and fiance. Tell them both to forgive and forget. If you two get married, then she will run into your mother from time to time. Can't get around that. Maybe what was such a silly joke to you was not to your mom. Get them both together and hash out the problem.

Where were you when your mom was going off on your fiance. You should have stopped it before it went to far.

not knowing what the "silly joke" is, I can't say who was more hurt by this altercation. Sounds like your fiance said something extremely offensive, and your mother was more hurt than you realized.

Both women need to work this out on their own. Speaking from experience, men who are good to their mothers are good to their wives. If your fiance is a good-hearted person, she'll realize she needs to make things right with your mother and make the family stronger. Support your mom as much as your fiance, find out how badly she was jurt by the joke, communicate with her.

Your mother loves you more than anyone in the world ever will. How long do you think your fiance would hang around if you were dependent on her for every single thing, food, money, shelter, transportation? Your mother did it for 18 years or even more, am I right? She carried you, she nurtured you, she wiped your slimey bumm. She fixed your boo boos and made your peanut butter sandwiches, drove you to school, and drove away the monsters in the closet. No one else will ever do that much for you again. Don't you dare forget it.

What was the silly joke your fiancee played on your MOM. Obviously your MOM didn't think it was so silly. Nothing should ever come between a MOM and her child. Maybe your fiancee needs to GROW UP and stop playing silly games.

You need to stand up and be the man that your fiancee needs you to be.

Your mother does not get the right to belittle her and then continue to chat with you. You need to put your foot down and realize that there may be repurcussions. You are not between a rock and a hard place as your place is off of mommies apron strings and standing tall beside your fiancee.

You are to be her knight in shining armour so step up and be it or let her find someone that will be that man not a boy afraid to tell his mother she is out of line and to back off!!

Wow. You poor things, what a mess. I'd say it's time to put your foot down on this one. Stand up to your mother and let her know that you're tired of her behavior and that her behavior towards your fiance needs to stop. I don't blame your fiance one bit. If your mother isn't able to stop being the way she is, then really neither of you should keep in strong contact with her. You both deserve respect, demand it. She'll either get over things and be decent, or she won't. That's not up for you guys to decide. Good luck =)

There's a big difference between just telling a "silly joke" and totally humiliating someone. You should have stepped in while your mom was being so disrespectful to your fiance. If I were your fiance I'd honestly think twice about even marrying you. You owe her a huge apology.

Your mother is a b*tch, if you really want to spend the rest of your life with this girl, tell your mother how you feel.
