As an Individual living in the United Arab Emirates, you have a residence visa, which is also reffered to as an employment visa. This residence visa is provided to you by your sponsor (the company or person you are working for) and will be cancelled in case you resign.

All foreign nationals, except GCC nationals, taking up employment or residence in Saudi Arabia must have a sponsor. The process consist of the following steps:

1. Employment Permit: Obtained by the Saudi Arabian company.
2. Residence Permit: Submitted along with the Employment Permit.
3. Visa Processing: Submitted at the Saudi Consulate with jurisdiction over the foreign national's current legal place of residence.

Residence Permits are ONLY ISSUED AFTER A WORK VISA HAS BEEN GRANTED and it is the responsibility of the employer to organize these permits for employees and dependent relatives.

Take care

No problem, go ahead. You can apply for a Saudi residence visa even though you have an existing visa of UAE. The only thing to keep in mind is you should re-enter to UAE within six months from the date of departure, in order to keep your visa valid.

All the best.
