if we were to live for the next thousand years, inventing new technologies is it plausible to assume we might make some form of interstellar travel, if there was a civilasation that preceeded us by thousands of years, could they create this technology? what if our earth scientists are wrong and faster than light travel is possible? i think we as humans forget that we don't possess infinte knowledge and new discoveries are made all the time? to those who say why would they come here? for the same reasons we would go to mars and every other planet in our system, and if we had the technology now, we would go even further? to those who say why haven't they revealed themselves, maybe they have, if even a fraction of the reported sightings are true than they have revealed themselves. if even one of the former military or govt officails who've come forward is right, there is the proof. of course i can't say they exist but no one can say they don't exist. plz don't bash me i'm just asking

Well all i want to say is........anything is possible dude,
absolutely anything.
Our technologies might reach its zenith in days to come.....
As u say we don't have infinite knowledge.
Moreover nature has many things yet to unveil right???
(the above line is quite popular...haha)

Given the distances between the earth and other possible inhabitable planets, they would need to overcome time, as using the normal human lifespan of 60-80 years as a parameter. Thusly these aliens would have to have an extended lifespan of perhaps thousands of year to overcome the colossal distance. Even at the speed of light, it would still require a very long life. While we have not yet discovered a means of achieving light speed, it is in theory, a time warp may exist to boost speed or a displacement of time. Einstein believed that time could be altered by acceleration. Has it happened? Perhaps, but always remember there is a lunatic fringe that clutters scientific investigation. Some 'researchers' claim the Jesus Christ was an alien. Was he?

i dont think that we have been visited by aliens and the government is covering it up. imagine being the aliens for a sec. you found a new planet. you visited it and their government covered it up and the people didnt find out about it. what would you do? would you just give up and go, or go in and show yourself to everybody. you would obviously be safe because if you made it this far to earth, it means that you have technologies to protect yourself.
and frank, they don't need to live so long to get here. they could send a whole town to see us. the people that reach us could be generations from the people that started out.

It's possible but anyone venturing out in space would be out there for centuries, even millenia. They would have to take advantage of every form of material resource they came upon so I don't think it would be a great thing if Aliens found our world. Probably be something like Independence day, only without Will Smith or any of the other silly heroes written into the scenario.

No bashing zone here just admiration for those who speak out!
NASA reported evidence of caves found on Mars along with the existence of water pools. Ever watch Star Trek? Gene Roddenberry SP? was a visionary. He portrayed gadgets we now use each day. This box included. People thought he was nuts.
Didn't a Governor come out and reveal he saw what appeared to be UFOs? Is he the same guy leading the politicians to negotiate trouble overseas? You could ask BO'Reilly? He has spoken about ur Q. He seems to be the expert on my TV lately. lol What happened to news anyway?
YES I believe. I hope they make more noise in the future!

If we live for the next 1000 years it is very likely that we will receive signals that will prove the existence of aliens.
If we lived for the next 1,000,000 years we may have some dialog with them but we will never meet one.
Though millions or billions of technological societies like ours exist they are probably short lived,on the order of 300 or 400 years.
We could receive a signal that will prove they exist but they will probably always stay speculative.

For all all of us be conscious of, they are technologically greater proper. What I even have considered interior the previous is that maybe they are able to construct crafts that ruin our often happening policies of physics to get right here, yet they may well be a particularly peacefull race who be conscious of not something of conflict and the destruction guy has high quality tuned over centuries.the 1st actual time they laid eyes on us their souls shivered with concern, and that they might have desperate its proper to basically observe us from afar. Is it accessible that even in the event that they are lots greater technologically greater they are particularly scared human beings because of the fact of our violent nature. might desire to there be a race of beings that are completely peacefull and loving? i think of so. in basic terms as there might desire to o.k. be races of beings that are hell bent on destruction and can salivate on the considered looking a primitive blue planet to vent their evil techniques. whilst it comprises the universe my buddy, each and every thing is accessible.

You're absolutely right. Some scientists are quite arrogant in their attitude that 'because we haven't invented it (interstellar travel), no-one else could'.
Not all scientists think this way, the most notable being Michio Kaku who is quite open minded when it comes to the possibility of alien visitations etc.

As large as the universe is, it is actually much more unlikely that they Don't exist out there somewhere. As for visiting us, they would have to be a lot more advanced than we are. Saying that, it is entirely plausible that they have been here before, are here now, or will be in the future, and of us having no idea they exist.

The idea that aliens could visit Earth is plausible. But the idea that we wouldn't know about it, that is not plausible. And the idea the some secret government department knows about it but it is still secret from the general population is not plausible. If aliens really were visiting Earth now, we would all know about it.
