Does misery love company?

When things are really bad and someone is behaving like a martyr - acting cheerful and happy when they could not possibly be....it really annoys me. If, however, someone is genuinely cheerful and happy it is infectious to me...it rubs off and improves my mood. Misery does love company. It will grow like a cancer when fed...just as a happy and positive disposition will cure most ills. I like to be around positive people because even if you want to be miserable it cannot last around a happy person.

I never mind when people are cheerful or happy as long as they stay the heck out of my face if I am NOT cheerful and happy.

Only when its fake.
When I am sad, I would much rather be with happy people. I spent way too much of my childhood sad-- I really hate spending my time sad now, unless someone has died or something.
I wasn't even sad when I was diagnosed with cancer-- upset and angry, but not sad.

when people are cheery and happy all the time about nothing! like the lady at the grocery store, she is SO freakin happy! and she has to talk about everything you are buying "oooh, that looks great!" "what are you making? a casserole? mmmm!" just check me out and shut up! i hate talking to strangers.

When they finish their act with a flip over something that's mine and offering me something I love, like coke. I go completely mad, and get them away from me! Too nice is like way bad. At other times I adore nice people. Buh bye!

When I'm not in the mood, listening to a good song they're interrupting, pms, or if they are better than me.
