We just flew with my 10 week old. We just showed up at the airport and checked in. they will put "infant in arms" on your boarding passes. You can check in the stroller and carseat with your luggage or keep it and check it at the gate. we were worried about it being really hard but it was'nt bad. Remember to bring a pacifier for take offs and landings. It helps their ears. Good luck!

this is the best time to fly, i flew with my baby.... at the time she was only 7 weeks old! You may want to check the rules and regulations with the airline you are taking. Sitting on your lap, you're just holding / carrying them like you normally would when you're sitting down. Don't forget the pacifier, it helps when they are sucking on it during take off and landing (prevents it from hurting)

easiest time to fly.... trust me!
you request a bassinette from the airline, these attach to the wall and you can put your baby there to sleep.
For take off she must be sitting/lying on your lap. Some airlines provide little seatbelts that attatch to your seatbelt, others don`t. I also took a sling to attach the baby to me...and to breastfeed on takeoff.
You should give the baby a bottle or breastfeed on takeoff so that the sucking helps the pressure on their ears (screaming also works, but thats not so good on the nerves - yours)
take some tape to attach the baby blanket to the wall (or seat in front) to block out the light and movie screen and change of clothes for her and you plus more diapers than you think you need. Get on first and off last.
Figure out the logistics of how you are going to carry everything......with a 3 month I travelled alone, so wore the baby on my front ,carry on in a backpack and wheeled my luggage with one hand.

now I think its mandatory for all babies and children to be in a baby carrier seat , why not call your airline carrier and confirm this to be on the safe side.before you go,check with your ped about taking your baby on the plane, there are a few things you should know about, such as the air pressure, when the plane takes off and lands the pressure in the cabin reeks havoc with your ears, they tend to pop anf get a full feeling and with children (infants) this is a painful experience,Ive traveled a lot and the babies that are in the plane during those times are screaming their heads off.maybe your ped can give you somthing for the baby to take during your flight. I hope Ive helped you with your question, and have a great time. rubberstampr

I am a frequent flyer...usually they are on your lap, but if you can try to get the seats in the very front they will usually put out a bassinet that hooks onto the wall and there is much more room.
