Consider half the tv shows and Most of the Movies are all in "American". Please understand this is all in jest for my good buddy and perhaps future date Sid Vicious. I can't subscribe to this because I oppose changing things because of current prevailing winds.

By your yardstick, we should call Porteguese "Brazilian" because there are more Brazilians that speak it than Porteguese, and Spanish would change to Mexican. What if the minority of the people in a country speak a language, but that minoity is larger than the population of the original country a language is spoken in, do we change it then?

Should a plague break out, etc, and magically Australia became the most populous english speaking country, would we change the name of the language to Austalian? And what about the Walloon language? Would that become Belgian? And if Belgium became the most populous Dutch speaking nation, would Dutch become Belgian (2)?

Too confusing, leave it alone.

I think we must. We cannot forget our roots, a people were a more advanced society out of the old world met the new and set foot on them , English we were from England but when mistreated we refused the yoke and rose up and cast it off over 200 years well savored and benevolent of growth and greatness.
Our fight now is against globalization, it will devour us and we ought seal our borders, end all immigration, suspend for 25 years any naturalization and set embargo against all imports then wrestle our selves in america to unite a blended people and set us distinctive in the world.

It has purely been some years on the grounds that i've got considered the excellence made in some aspects. with the intention to respond to the question good we would desire to bypass lower back to our forebears and people who first set foot in this land. there replaced into no "united states of america of america" as all of us comprehend it on the instant, subsequently there replaced into no language to undertake outdoors of those spoken via our "community American" brothers and sisters. They too, had differant languages between the tribes. human beings got here here from many lands and spoke their community language upon arriving here. an identical, too, whilst our English, now conventional as British, forebears got here here. there replaced into purely one "English" language then. That language developed into the language of the land and over the years grew to become the yank tongue that we talk on the instant. remember that people who did no longer hail from England additionally had to income the language and, by way of translation, maximum in all risk grew to become particularly revised below England's standards. i glance at it as purely yet in any different case we made this united states our very own in the process the years it took to chop up from from "English Rule." i've got considered the excellence made on line whilst taking part in be conscious video games quite often. it quite is asked if one needs to play the yank language version or the English version. i think of that is approximately time they made that vast distinction! even nevertheless the languages are extremely comparable and we've not any issue conversing in English conversing international places...there are words that are unique to the two. I certainly have a British - American dictionary here at living house that enables me to envision which means on specific words that are written in an identical way yet have a diverse which means. that is extremely an attractive reference e book. there is one on line besides! examine it out. that is style of relaxing to work out what the modifications quite are.

The parent language is still English, so to be more apt what we speak could be deemed American English (except for Southerners, who speak NASCAR).
