Have you done any internships? They are often unpaid...but if you can swing it, I would suggest you contact attorneys' offices and ask if they accept interns. Most offices love interns because its free workforce! This would be the best experience you could get and often an unpaid intern will be hired if they do a good job. Good luck!

As the above poster indicated, internships are the best way to get in and get experience; however, if you cannot afford to work for free for several months, another option might be posting for a job as a receptionist or courier, the lowest rung on the ladder at a law office, and indicate on your resume that you are seeking entry into the legal field with opportunities for advancement.

It is a foot in the door to get a feel for the profession and the law firm itself and to find a mentor that will give you opportunties to do actual paralegal work (with their guidance as they don't want you, them or the firm to make a mistake and fail) once you are proficient at the job you have been hired to do.
