it happened to me a long time ago that i can't reply, see or even compose a messages...what i did is i went to options then general preferences...then i set composing messages into plain text only...when i set it into graphics and colors i got an error messages and that thing happened...i found out that i didn't download the necessary files to support the graphics for yahoo mail...like the additional gif's and backgrounds...so i just turned it to plain text only...after that i can compose, read and reply

Yahoo Mail Beta I use and explaining here:
When you are in Yahoo mail click option right on top
then on left Contact Options Click on Mail under Option on left side or click this http://us.f350.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Options
You will see tabs of Spam/Management/Premium Service
Under management scroll down you will find: General Preference Click on it then scroll down and look for: and do whatever you want this is a copy for your reference:
Message Actions
Moving/Deleting Messages: Go to the next message after wards
Go back to the original folder after wards
Forwarding Messages: Forward as in line text
Original messages will be copied directly into the body of your outgoing messages.
Forward as an attachment
Original message will be attached to your outgoing messages as separate files.
Replying: Don't include original message when replying
Include part of the original message when replying
Include full original message when replying
At the end click Save on the left bottom side and leave

Are these emails that you know for sure have content in the body of the message? I for one get a lot of weird emails from different senders, but when I open them, they are blank. I think it's some kinda of weird bug/tracker/spam message deal. I think they are tracking to see if your email address is valid or not so they can send ya some spam. Maybe I'm completely off the mark here but it happens to me.

I'm having the same problem getting my mother's e-mails also I think there is a bug in Yahoo mail.
Ask the person to re send it to you again and see if you can open it, if you can't report it to Yahoo!
