there are loads of routers and wireless routers on the market
new ones coming out all the time
net gear, linksys, bt, but to name a few,
what you are better to do is have a look at your isp website and see which ones they recommend, as they will have a service centre if anything goes wrong or if you need help, least they WILL help you.

i hope this helps

If you really want a professional router really Cisco is the way to go, you may be looking right around $800 but this will work great, that the commercial series. these routers offers a great wireless range. but if you want to go with something cheaper i will recommend the Belkin N1 Wireless-N (Draft 802.11n) Router which offers a great range and much faster speeds. I will attach the link for you to take a look at the router.
This one is the one that i have for my network and i love it.

if you are refering to different makes and models, there are probably thousands.

3COM jumps to mind first however there a lot of custom made ones for specific types of data relays (ie telephone network as opposed to computers)

D-Link and Linksys also come to mind but just Google somehting aong the lines of "network routers" and you will see the extensive list.
