The planet isn't saying anything. Mankind has often faced various illnesses that killed millions through the ages. There has been Black Death, smallpox; the flu after WW I. Now it's aids. A cure will be found and life will go on.

We've always had infectious diseases. AIDS, while deadly, isn't anywhere near the danger it's hyped up to be: it's not one of the top causes of death, nor is it likely to ever become one.
There's no chance that AIDS would kill off the human race. For one thing, it's already clear that a certain percentage of the population is immune to AIDS. Even if everyone else gets the disease and dies, that just means mankind will continue from the descendants of the immune people. Evolution in action, y'know. However, this drastic scenario ain't gonna happen... even now, it's very rare to get AIDS from heterosexual sex. The typical person who gets AIDS from heterosex is a woman in a long-term relationship with a drug addicted AIDS patient.
The story is different in Africa, but the predominant AIDS strain in Africa is also milder than the AIDS strains in the industrialized world. This is to be expected: excessively lethal strains tend to die out since they kill off their hosts.
You should still take precautions while having sex, of course, but the AIDS scare is vastly overblown, and the numbers prove it. See the links below for details.

Well the planet is telling us " Get smart Earthlings ......."
i.e, stop being selfish & take care of nature.
Dunno when all of us will be enlightened of this simple policy :(
