We went to Sharm El Sheik for our honeymoon, that was a disaster.
It took over 20 hours to get there from Greece and when we arrived, no-one was there to pick us up at the airport as planned so we got a cab and got charged about 40 times the normal price!!! On arrival at our hotel, they said we hadn't paid for the holiday and wouldn't get us a room. When we eventually got our room it was really noisy, we changed rooms 4 times in two weeks as each one was worse than the last. The hotel was like an 18-30 complex, full of lager louts and slappers. I got serious food poisoning for the last 4 days of the holiday, I had to have injections like telegraph poles.
There were people trying to rip you off at every opportunity, they are like parasites.
The journey back was another 20 hours (Greece is like 2 hours from Egypt) due to having to catch 3 flights home again.
I would never go to Sharm El Sheik again, even if someone paid me, what a dump!!!!
The only thing that made the holiday better was leaving.

Hi! Interesting question!
My boyfriend and I went on a holiday to Tunisia last March. It was the first time I'd ever been abroad (although he'd been abroad lots of times), so I'd built it up a lot in my head!
When we got there, it was raining. In fact, it rained for most of the week! No offence to any Tunisian people, but we also found that we (or specifically, *I*) got harrassed by the men. They were very pushy and quite sleazy - they didn't care that my boyfriend was there at all, they'd just grab at me!
When you try to go shopping, they literally swarm around you, grab you and try to force you to buy things! We went to an 'indoor' market - we were greeting by a dodgy guy who led us to a derelict part of the market into a run-down, empty cafe. He wouldn't let us leave until we bought something. Also, whenever you walked down the street, people would try to sell you things or ask you questions. You literally couldn't go anywhere without being hassled.
Because we went off-season, there was nothing to do! The bars were empty and the resort was dead. Nobody spoke English and we found ourselves either in our hotel most of the time or in a local bar, as the only customers!
We tried to look on the bright side and tried to get as much fun out of it as possible and just tried to enjoy being together! We also read a LOT of books! Lol!
I'd say, if you happen to go on a disastrous holiday, make the best of it. Change hotels if you can, try to find the tourist information centre, make your own day trips if you can. Before you go on holiday, make sure to pack games, books and an mp3 player just in case the worst happens!
xx Emmie

After waiting for ages to go on holiday we finally got to our destination just to find it was thundering and lightning and raining like mad. That week most of the roads washed away and we were stuck in a flat for the whole of the two weeks. The shops were flooded and did nothing but eat crisps and sweets. The kids were so bored and by the time it was over we were lucky to have a landrover and managed to get out of that place. Worst ever holiday :)

We drove down to New Orleans from NYC (I did all the driving) and my two friends and I had a huge fight right when we got there because I was delusional from all the driving without sleep and I wasn't making any sense. We spent the next 5 days drunk so that we'd have a good time because we didn't have enough money to do anything else. The drinking made it worse and one of my friends got alcohol poisoning. The drive home made everything better because we all just wanted to get the hell out of there.
