Two parts to this question...I'm not sure of the way to achieve this!
How do I gently but quickly remove
i) organic solvent from solution
ii) water from solution ?

Any answers received quickly Much appreciated! :)

For the organic, if it is a relatively volatile solvent, use rotary evaporation (works well for ether, hexane, and other low boiling solvents).

For water, use either anhydrous sodium or magnesium sulfate (I've usually found magnesium to be better because it's a little easier to see when you've added enough, since it is a very fine powder that clumps when it absorbs water).

i)pour it off or evaporate it off because most of the time it will be on the top.

ii)anhydrous sodium sulfate or some other compound that absorbs water.
