It is uncommon to find "healthy" restaurant food. First, there are the obvious bad things like fried foods and things loaded with cheese and creams (like alfredo sauce and many gravies). Then there are the hidden unhealthy aspects of meals. Many salads you might order have a lot fatty dressings on them. They can have lots of sodium or unhealthy additions like bacon. Many healthy-seeming items are loaded with unhealthy items. There may be a grilled chicken entree, but it probably has a very unhealthy sauce and side item. The last thing that is bad about restaurant food is the very large portions. Meals are so over proportioned that even a healthy meal may end up being half of your daily calories.

Restaurant food is never as good for you as home cooked food. Even their chicken and fish dinners will have added salt and fat. Steamed veggies often have salt and butter added to them. The key is to eat fresh healthy food as often as possible and if you go to a restaurant, be reasonable and enjoy!

Well, it depends on what you order, if you take a salad or grilled chicken it is very good for you, but if you choose a big hamburger with XLL french fries on the side, that really isn't good for you. I hope I answered your question...

fast food is a different story. real restaurants are just fine. depends on how much you eat though. don't pig out. too much of anything can be bad.

I don't think it is bad at all as long as you order something healthy and you ask that fattening sauces be put on the side.
