I ve been thinking about free will these days.
If we choose where we are born, our parents, our life circumstances, then that is free will ....
and then we choose our reactions to these
...that is again free will :)
the funny thing to me ... I don't see how we make our free will...
sometimes we have crazy thoughts in our heads ...and they can be so because we are not healthy or sth ...
and we do react sometimes ... not in our full brains , that s what i mean
so what do you think is free will
this is a very metaphysical question
I expect no straghtforward answers,,, so don't worry

I m not sure I asked my question correctly because i didn't receive any answer that does actually answer my question...
Thank you all for trying
I used the wrong example by saying that sometimes when ill u dont take the right decision....
this is not what concerns me at all here
I question the very existence of free willI in the sense "I decide on my own " as we are so strongly influenced in every choice we make by our genetics, social conditions, life experiences, moods, states , people ....
we do think we are taking decisions on our own , but do we really...

rather if we come to this life with a plan to improve our soul, which i believe in
we make choices beforehand
and if we believe universe is mental, after we are born everything we do - is a mental image of ours
so what we are artists of some sort - how do we come with these visions ???
this is the free will* = the ability to make visions i m concerned with here ....
can you see this in my way ....????

Free will is the ability to make your own decisions and choices in life. Of course, this is when you are old enough to think for yourself. The point is, you have to take responsibility for your own actions because no one (once you are an adult) can make you do anything. You might be led in certain directions by people or influenced by them, but the choice of what to do is always up to you. That is free will and we all have it.

Free will is the ability to choose right from wrong. You must know what is right/wrong and this occurrs at different ages for people. Some say around age seven is accountability. Some never get it.
We cannot choose where we are born, parents, life circumstances (debatable).

Free will if the power to make choice(s). The variety of choices that you have and the extent to which you can choose or choose not to choose are the measure of free will which varies enormously for individuals w/in collective systems. Eg. you (depending on your circumstances) may have more or less power to make choices in Russia or America or Iraq, eg. again: you could be paid to kill in Iraq (if that's your choice) you could be free to pursue all sorts of things in Russia that have long since been banned or restricted in the West.

I have the free will to live or to die. It doesn't get any more basic or straightforward than that. @8-)
