Gwen Stefani because she is the Goddess of Rock/Pop.
the woman has an amazing voice. extremely talented. I love her Style and her L.A.M.B clothing line. i loved since Tragic Kingdom. She's one of the few singers that actually sings live. she is unique. A Rock Goddess With Issues. Need I Say More

male: Steve Perry, the guy just has a voice that makes you want to hear more.
female: Martina McBride, completely underrated and less heard because of her genre (country/western), absolutely the best female singer I have ever heard.

I'd have to say John Mayer, of course I have no idea what the future holds as far as entertainers, so I may have to change my answer in another 5 years or so. John Mayer is intelligent and soulful in his music and he believes what he sings. I admire that and his music is beautiful.
