You cannot be nicked for using the longbow in England. No, the law enabling an English man the right to carry and use a longbow is still in place and on the statute books. If you have been nicked, then this is called wrongful or unlawful arrest. You can contest your case and win. What you need do is contact your nearest local archery club and get their advice.
Oh and by the way, did you know that it is still lawful for an English Archer to shoot dead any Welshman in the City of Chester. Fact but don't blame me if you get done for it.
How did King Henry V win the battle of Agincourt? He took one thousand Welsh archer with him to France. When the King said "loose arrows" the Welsh archers shot off about 9 arrows each in the first minute of the battle. Most of the Frogs were either dead or wounded. The rest were kicked to death by the English infantry. If a Frog knight got past the Welsh archers they dragged him from his horse and smashed his armour to bits with their sledge hammers, with him still inside it. A horrible death. The Frogs wanted to ban the Longbow, claiming it was unchivalric - what a load of tosh. Where in Welsh history is the word chivalry and what does it mean anyway? Bash them to bits on day one and you win.

At one time, it was law, but was repealed in a clean-up in obsolete laws in 1960:
False = The law requires all Englishmen to practice archery.
True = It did so once upon a time.
Somewhat True = It stopped doing so in 1863.
True = It definitely stopped doing so in 1960.
If you want to read someone's research on this, visit the website below. They did their research.
However, it may not be law, but I heartily recommend you try it!

It HASN'T been repealed, YET, - but, I, - personally, think it OUGHT to be!
And, YES, - if you brandish ANY kind of weapon, in a PUBLIC PLACE, - you CAN, - and, SHOULD, indeed, - be PROSECUTED!
