I too have Endometriosis, and the pain you experience as a result of the condition depends very much on where the endometrium is growing.

For me it's on the back of the outside of my womb and my bowels, so before and during my period I get a lot of back pain and get excruciating pain when I open my bowels (sorry TMI!!!).

Heavy bleeding for an extended amount of time accompanied by bad pain should always get checked out, so get yourself referred to an expert.

For you to really get an answer then only way of knowing is to go to an OBGYN, and then the only reliable way of them finding out is for you to have a Laparoscopy. If endo is really bad it can show up on scans sometimes, but the amount of pain someone has no bearing on the amount of endometriosis. Women can be riddled with it and have no pain and no problems conceiving, others can have a relatively small amount, but get lots of pain and suffer with infertility. There's no definite explanation as to why that is.

Don't worry about your fertility at this stage, it seems like you already have another child so you have no reason to fear it affecting your fertility, and it certainly didn't affect your Mum or your Grandmother having children.

Get yourself off to an expert, and in the meanwhile don't just suffer, take some pain-killers, make sure your iron and fluid levels are kept up, because with heavy blood loss you can be at risk of getting anaemic.

Take it easy hon, and try not to worry, I'm sure you're gonna be just fine.

When I was your age, I had similar problems. When you are young, your body still hasn't gotten into a routine, and things like that can happen. Take some Pamprin, that stuff is the best for female pains. Also, begin regular (yearly) trips to a gyno. They will ask for a family history and be able to treat you if you do have endometriosis.

Yes, it is possible that this could be endometriosis. The only way to confirm a diagnosis of endometriosis is through outpatient surgery called laparoscopy.

I would recommend getting another opinion.

Go to your GYN for a pap smear and checkup. Sounds like the beginnings of endometrosis. Until then, I'd take Women's Motrin or extra-strength Motrin or Advil for the pain.
