I once had a dream, I took a gun, and tried to take over my ship while I was in the navy. I killed several of my friends that tried to stop me. I've always wondered why I had that kind of dream.

I find work dreams happen when you work to much or are worried about something work related..

I've written entire short stories in my dreams, one where I was a femme fatale asassin working for the mob, of all things :)
Sometimes a cigar, is just a cigar. Sometimes a dream is just telling yourself a creative story, or sometimes it could be a memory of a past life. Sometimes I dream about something I watched on the tube. Seriously though, it sounds like a past life memory, and talking to someone who does regression may be useful at this time. Perhaps a dream that takes place when you were in the navy in this life, got fuzzed in with a previous sea faring life where there was a reason of some sort why you thought a mutiny was necessary. Groups of souls re-incarnate together, and you could have shared more than one sea faring incarnation with the same group.
