Easy to sex any live bearer. Females have 2 triangle shaped fins on the bottom. Males have a triangle fin in the front and a long skinny fin in the back. Really sounds like the fish have a hemorrhage which is caused by a bacterial infection. Go to any pet store and get some EM tablets made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. You need 1 tablet/packet per 3 days. Remove carbon from the filter. On the 4th day make a 1/4th tank water change. In the future, remember only 25% water changes, temp at 80, 1/2 tsp. aquarium salt per gal. water.

Hey there, from what is sounds like, you may have some fish fry on your hands in the next couple of days. Its hard to say since I cant see the fish in question but this colored spot is called the gravid spot. If you are considering rearing the fry, then you would probably want to seperate her from the other fish or the fry will be eaten more than likely. When looking at the fish, they have what are called anal fins. These are located on the bottom of the fish near the back as the tail starts to form.Between those fins for a male is a tubular like fin that can be extended in about a 360 degree angle to fertilize the females. For the female, there is also a fin but it connects to the body and fans down away from the body. This is how you tell the male from the female. You can also look at the guppies and the one that is chasing the others is probably the male trying to mate. I hope I could be of some help, this is the first answer I have given. By the way, my guppies gravid spot gets pretty dark before they drop their fry so keep an eye out for this to get even darker and bigger the next day or two, some even say that the female body will square off. It's tricky but if you save the fry it can be well worth it.

certainly, some woman guppies have a brightly coated tail, you need to nonetheless have a woman. the least confusing thank you to tell if she is pregnant could be a "great" blackspot very almost marvelous in the back of her abdomen. Its a gravid spot/marking which would be one blob of black. It seems such as you have a pregnant fish on your arms. Did you go with greater guppies? if so, you will might desire to do considered one of two issues. you could the two purchase some plant life (real or pretend) for the toddlers to cover in, maximum will perish by ability of way of being eaten even nevertheless it truly is going to furnish an area for some to cover. or you will might desire to setup yet another tank (or 5 gallon bucket in case you're short on money) and internet the toddlers and positioned them right into a distinctive tank. the mum will consume maximum if no longer all of the toddlers, its completely favourite and its no longer something to rigidity approximately. sturdy luck!

Hi Your guppy is loaded and it is going to give birth to new guppies...
In such conditions, you should keep the said guppy in some other tank or jar and in next 3-4 days, it wil give birth to new guppies.
Normally guppies give birth to 20-30 fishes, do not change the water after the birth for atleast 2 days and remove the said guppy from the seperate jar to the actual tank as soon as the birth is given, otherwise, it will eat all the fishes, which she has given birth too....

Don't provide overdose of food...Best of Luck...

if its gray colour with a only colcord tial then its female and its about to give birth so put it in some type of breeding tank (ideal the floating ones in ur current aquarium) don't over feed or it could die.
