Last year I had heart problems and not long afterwards I started gaining weight, it seems to be all fluid, I've gone up three clothing sizes (soon it will be four) and I just keep gaining weight. I've been tested for metabolism, thyroid and cortisol levels and they're all fine. My doctor's run out of ideas and I'm desperate, I can't keep gaining weight with no end in sight. I'm on fluid pills but they only get rid of a small amount of the fluid. I'm going to see every doctor I can until I find an answer, but I thought maybe someone here might have had a similar problem or know of something that could help? I'm really desperate! I can't exercise because I've got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and I had a heart test last year that said my heart was now ok. I just don't know what's causing all this rapid weight gain and how to get rid of it. My whole body hurts because of it.

Are you seeing an endocrinologist? Other Drs don't usually read hormonal tests correctly. There are other cortisol tests that should be done other than just a morning draw like ACTH, saliva or urine collection. All should be done because hormones fluxuate so much. I went undiagnosed with multiple normal cortisol tests but it almost killed me when I had a minor surgery and didn't have cortisol to deal with the stress. Also CFS and body aches (fibromyalgia) are symptoms of pituitary problems...which could cause cortisol problems also. I highly recommend asking for more cortisol testing from an endocrinologist and retest thyroid. Also, have them MRI your pituitary and see if that is the culprit. Good luck.

You might want to try an endocrinologist. These drs treat diseases and conditions of the endocrine system (a system that relates to hormones and metabolism). They can help you figure out if this is a thyroid problem that could be contributing to the issue with weight gain.

Thyroid problems can have similar symptoms to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia even causing the body to hurt all over.

ask for a higher dose of your "water pill" if it is a "water" issue you need to watch what you eat,IE salty foods, fatty foods, eat small portions and more often .

DON'T MAKE BIG CHANGES WITH OUT TALKING TO YOUR DR.

Use weight gain 3000. It will turn all the fat in your body to muscle. Or if that fails you could hire yourself out as a bouncy castle.
