I have a very stressful job working for a doctor and we work long hours ....sometimes 9 or 10 hrs seeing all kinds of things. Lately there has been some in-house conflicts going on also causing some stress ....but to the question of how I deal with mine is just simple....I log on my computer and find a place like this, or a game program I like, chat with someone, or whatever.....its totally different and takes my mind off a "work" or "stress" and relaxes me for I have control over what I am doing. I then get sleepy and will shut down and go sleep the night away.

Have you tried reading your favorite kind of book until your mind is exhausted? Pick your Very Favorite Type of book and read through the pages to be sure you like the writer's style before you shell out the money for it. Try to focus.

That will also improve your grammar and your spelling (not to imply you need either-----you write well)

Did you want a magic pill? Sorry. A Great Book you can stay interested in every night. Then sleep like a baby.

FOCUS!!! Learn to focus. Do it for yourself. You deserve it. I know it's hard at times. BUT Do It Anyway. I will be thinking about you and wondering if you had the strength to help yourself. Much love, either way you go. Life is a struggle, but you know that. @8-)

There are actually lots of simple solutions that can help you get a peaceful night's sleep.

First, try to make sure your bedroom is set up as a place that encourages you to sleep - especially during the hours you need to sleep the most. Try to avoid doing things like homework or eating snacks in bed. Make sure the temperature in your room is comfortable - a room that is too warm or too cold could keep you wide awake all night! Your body takes its sleep cues from whether it's light or dark, so keep the room as dark as possible at night, and let in light first thing in the morning.
Give yourself a little de-stressing ritual before bed to help you relax. Avoid scary movies, loud music, and action-packed TV shows, and, instead, try something peaceful like writing in a journal. Once you're in bed, counting backward from 100 with your eyes closed can ease your mind into sleep.
Regular exercise can help you sleep better, but only if you make sure to do it well before bedtime. Also, stop drinking anything with caffeine (such as soda or coffee) before dinnertime. Even the amount of caffeine in a can of soda can keep you wide awake.
Set up a pattern of getting to bed about the same time every night and waking up around the same time every morning. As hard as it may seem, stick close to that schedule on weekends, too. Another good lesson to teach your body is that your bed is for sleeping, not tossing and turning. If you've been in bed for more than 30 minutes without falling asleep, try getting up and doing some quiet reading or writing to calm down your mind. Return to bed when you're sleepy.

Do some relaxing stretching excercises to stretch out those tense muscles. Read some positive affirmations or a good "feel good" book or short story to relax your mind and fill it with positives. Light some candles and take a hot bubble bath after your stretches to sooth those aching, stressed out muscles, then put on some relaxing music....we listen to ocean waves ty night to fall asleep by and I have always found the sound of the waves crashing on the surf relaxing. Whatever it is that makes you feel relaxed and happy, do it to unwind. I hope you will try some of these things and find that they will help you destress.

I always find a hot bath relaxing, read for a while and have a cup of tea. When you go to bed put on some soft music and a cool cloth over your eyes and you should drift off to sleep.

Nothing works better than lying in bed with a self-hypnosis cd...trust me, you can find these on ebay, as well as other places im sure, they start you off by a thorough guided relaxation, and just let yourself drift into it. the positive affirmations are included, and believe them. i find you have to have faith that it will work (not blind faith, this is useless, but i digress), anyway, in a nutshell hypnosis cd's :)
