I think if the contestants are smart they listen, because the guest stars have proven they have the talent and longevity to make it in this business. They made it based on talent, not by having their careers fabricated by a farce of a TV talent competition.
And most of them are spot on in their advice to the contestants.

I don't think that Tony, or any of the guest stars for that matter, really have an influence on the singers.
Every suggestion and pointer that is shown in the "class" before the person sings never happen.

this entire difficulty has gotten stupid now. Sanjaya ought to provide up this contest if he extremely had any decency about him. He is conscious he sucks, some thing of the country does besides. This has merely grew to grow to be into some weekly stupid recreation the position we watch him replace his hair and gown up. enable him get his own educate or some thing and we may be able to all watch him there. He sounds like an fairly effective and likable youngster, and it should be neat to work out him do some thing. yet, for him to keep going this far in a making a track contest is ridiculous. it is, for the most area, making a mockery out of this entire educate and contest, and Sanjaya is cleverly taking area in into it. it is cool for him because it style of sounds like he's having exciting, yet, because it stands, it really is meant to be a making a track contest and, per making a track on my own, he ought to have and must have in no way made it to the right 12. the full theory of the educate is growing to be a stupid recreation now because of Sanjaya, and to respond to the question, convinced. The outfits does influence how we vote, curiously. And by technique of ways, i do not extremely imagine Sligh sucked.

They SHOULD listen! Tony Bennett has been in the biz for 50 years! But these young punks are conceited enough to think they know what's best.
We don't get to see enough of the 'session' (hint hint Fox!) to see what happens between the singers so it's hard to say what all transpires.

Last night's show proved that many of the contestants did not take Tony Bennet's advice and their lackluster performances showed it. They need to know that they really DON'T know more than someone of Bennet's staying power and quality.

It does not seem that it impacts them at all. They give good advice and most just ignore them. Its very frustrating.
