I need another word for 'father' that is commonly used in the *deep* south, I don't care if it's really old fashioned and out of use, I really need something genuinely Southern.

I'm writing a short story for my creative writing class and need an African-American (in the deep/ old south) perspective. I'm a South American girl living in Australia so I'm totally clueless.
Please help me.
