Proof reading is exacting work, comparing word for word, page for page. Using an estimate of 5 minutes per page x 100 pages = 500 minutes or 8.3 hours. Some people can accurately proof faster, but in correcting errors accuracy is key and time irrelevant unless under deadline constraints.

Normally such cost estimates are made per page or per word. Not time based since some are fast and some are slow and they may do it over a few hours or days.
If you are a proofreader, you will know. If you are an author, you can request for estimates and see whether the estimate is reasonable.
The speed of proof reading depends on the subject. If it is a novel or has a smooth style, it goes faster and if it has a highly technical subject and is rather pedantic, it takes more time since the brain gets taxed.
I can help you.

That completely depends on how quickly you can read, recognize, and correct errors. It also depends on how many errors there are! I would give an hourly rate, and see how long it takes you!
