It's all a matter of willpower really. Some people leave everything to the last mintue and somehow manage to get it all done and that's the way they work. I know other people who keep putting things off using various excuses and eventually they forget about their plans altogether as nothing ever gets done. I tend to deal with everything immediately so there's no last minute panic. If you really truly want to get your writing done, force yourself to sit down and don't get up again until you've made a dint in the work. Maybe the reason you aren't getting these written is because you aren't interested enough in the work? Could you do with changing your goals? If you must write, then get something down, it doesn't matter what then revise it later. It's always easier to edit words written on a page than to look at a blank screen! But back to the real answer and that's willpower!

I can be like you sometimes as well.

There are many different solutions, depending on the problem you face and your personality.

Firstly, get rid of all distractions. Unplug the tv, don't go online, delete games from your computer. You only choice is to work.

Secondly, make a list of things to do. If they are big tasks, then divide them up into little tasks. Then each day go through the list and do some of the tasks.

One time I had to write a book, which was made up of many sections. so I kept a list of the sections I had started, drafted, completed and use a spreadsheet to keep track of what percentage I had completed, and how much I had to do each day to meet my deadline.

This helped me see the progress I was making each day and got the job done.
