The Yankees have an incredible lineup. I've been saying throughout the off season that they are very capable for scoring 1000 runs. As far as 100 wins, again they are certainly capable but it's going to depend on their starting rotation. Carl Pavano did not impress me on opening day but we have to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe after several start we can revisit his progress. The sooner Wang returns the better. The rest of the starting rotation should be enough but I'd like to see a big time trade for a blue chip starter. To answer your question, yes, the Yankees should win 100 games. Either way they are still the class of division and the American League.

I don't think any team will get 100 wins but the Yankees and Mets will come the closest as long as their pitching staffs can stay healthy. As for 1000 runs it's either the Yankees or Indians.I can't see the Red Sox doing it because some of their players are injury prone. The Yankees are a little older but their lineup is still incredible.Giambi,Jeter,A-Rod,they could be the first to do it since the 1999 Indians. As for the present day Indians doing it I would not say they will but they have a shot. They were 2nd in the league in runs scored last year, lead the league in extra base hits and are only improving.Sizemore,Hafner,Nixon,Martinez,Blake,Garko,Barfield.Sounds deadly.Thats about the only lineup that can compare to the Yankees so I say they both have the best shots.I don't think either of them will do it but who knows.

100 wins has been a lofty goal for most good teams although its been a tough nut to crack. I can see it happening in the AL East because two of the best teams in the AL reside there. 1000+ runs on the otherhand might be a lot harder to do but if any team could do it it will be the Yankees with their offense. So Yes to your question.
I can see the Yankees posting over 100 wins and over 1000 runs in 2007. #27 in 2007.

No, a team has not won 100 games in a few years and the AL Central is too tough to produce a 100 game winner, the West too weak, and in the staffs in the East are not either strong enough or proven to say their clubs will end up with 100 wins. As for the NL we all know the offenses are not that productive.

If I had to guess, I'd say the Yankess have the best shot, especially at 1,000 runs. They have a powerhouse lineup that is sure to put up big numbers this year. Pitching is questionable though, so 100 wins might be tought. I think the Mets also have a good shot at the 100/1000 mark if they stay healthy.

I dont see any team getting to 100 wins but i think the two teams who will be the closest will be the Indians and the Angels. The Angels just need some of their young and new talent to step up and hit well b/c we all know Vlad is gonna mash, the Indians just need their bullpen to stay healthy. Both teams have great starting staffs and i think the Angels have the best bullpen in the game today while the Indians offense is nasty. The Yanks will push 95 as well especially if their pitching comes through (questions about SP and RP).
As far as 1000 runs you could easily say the Red Sox will get close and i see the Yanks getting 1000. The Yanks offense is unbelievable, its so ridiculous how great they are. The Indians could get close as well as the Mets.

Anyone who thinks the Yankees are gonna win 100 games with that disgusting pitching staff is out of their minds. They might score 1000 runs, and give up 1000.
