What is the biggest problem in American society today, and why?

Would you consider it is something to do with the government, like illegal aliens and the greed of corporations in a capitalist society? I once read a quote on the primary function of any government. It was from the front of a 1947 textbook on government. It stated the purpose of any government was to make it easy for the citizens who followed the law, and to make it difficult for anyone who breaks the law. It seems, sixty years later, the reverse is true. It is easy for citizens to break the law, and for illegal aliens it is easier.
Then again, our main trouble in American society might be outside of the government. If you consider the implications of global travel and media, it is possible for Americans to see greater difficulties in other countries. We feel compelled to aid the poor and weary foreigners, and only in hind sight do we see the one truth: nobody can help those who will not help themselves.
So what do you consider to be the primary problem in American society?

An overdose of materialism has caused them a mental fatigue.This has given a different scale to evaluate things around them.

unfortunately our government is not anymore
connect to the America people is all about money and power

there is not respect to what people wants
and this is so sad cause our country has

Though coming from one of the most progressive countries in the world, Americans in general are so ill informed about the world. As such, your government makes decisions that affect the world which completely wash over your heads because you personally are too ill informed about the issues. Take Iraq and before that Afghanistan, Pakistan, Vietnam, etc.. What does the average American know about the geography, culture, politics, social life, of these countries and its people. When the Americans bomb Muzafar Shariff, do you know where it is, what is there, how the people live and suffer? Its so far away therefore it does not matter. If you hve intimate knowledge about these places, you will be outraged that an american bomb or bullet killed Fatima Howari, age 7, brown eyes, curly hair, while she was out buying ice cream from the good humor man. Lets not think that she's from whatchamacallit in Poodunk land. What if she's from Hinkley, Pa. and killed by a Uzbeki bullet, say. All Americans would be up in arms and on a plane to Tashkent to flatten the country. Whay the double standards? ItsOK for an Asian child to die but not American? Yes, its easy for those who follow the law. But what if the US of A does not follow the law? Who polices the policeman?

Children.
They learn from parents or the lack of the them. What does that say to a child? They become unimportant. What will that child say to the next generation? Less important if they stick around to raise the family.
Can you blame the parents? They will be hauled into jail if they raise their children wrong. What is wrong and what is right? Depends on what the law says. Who is charge of the law? Depends on who thinks they are important enough to vote.
The wayside has become home to the unimportant. Education of love is not taught and is not seen by the children. Do not expect them to give what is not given.

Without question the biggest problem in society today is that people DO NOT THINK FOR THEMSELVES. When man has to rely on fellow Man for accurate information , He is certainly vulnerable to being MISLED. We must STOP and think things through for ourselves. our government due to its total lack of concern for the American people, such as health care, the elderly, our veterans, the waste of our tax dollars, the economy, gas prices, illegal immigrants....and so forth and so forth. They all live high on the hog with their big salaries...fantastic medical benefits..retirement up the wazoo, and could care less that the average working middle class American is struggling just to survive.

The problem is there are too many people on the planet.

The people who are really in charge....are planning a "culling."

Basically the U.S. is going to pull one more "false flag." We are going to detonate a nuke somewhere on the east coast. Bush will declare Marshall Law. The administration will come up with a confession tape from Osama Bin Laden. Iran will take the blame for harboring Osama for the last 5 years. Bush will retaliate and detonate 3 or 4 nukes in Iran's most heavily populated areas. China and North Korea will join in, possibly Russia. The result will be a total of 12 to 20 nukes detonated in the most heavily populated areas on the planet.

The people who initiated the assault will wait it out..... safe in their underground facilities.

The final end result......A New World Order.....and controlling a total population of only 1 billion people.

I suggest that you start storing up some canned food and water. Plenty.

The biggest problem as I see it is that we are too d*mn nice! Why are we sending foreign aid to countries that don't support us at the UN? We continue to send aid to countries that attack us through the media, through the UN, and try to block any measure we try to put through.

Why do we cater to our enemies while ignoring the needs of our friends? Why are we playing the band aid for the world?

It's time we realized that we can't have a "nice" war. Quit playing around with the insurgents and wipe them completely off the face of the earth! There's no reason why even ONE American soldier had to die and yet here we are years later...

It's time for Americans to be American and stand together instead of fighting over petty little issues.

The biggest problem as I see it is the feminizing of the male population of this country. A man cannot be a man anymore in America. He is taught to play nice and don't keep score, no rough play or talk, no standing up for yourself, no fighting back with the bullys at school, play soccer instead of football, sissy school plays instead of wrestling, be sensitive to gays, be tolorant of those of us who bad mouth our Presidents, go on picnics instead of hunting and fishing. Don't get out of the line or think for yourself cuz all us "enlightened" scholors know what's good for you. They have turned us into spineless wimps and that effects everything we do or don't in this country.
