The difference in being intelligent and being wise is somewhat great. Being intelligent means using your mind in the things that you do. Your efforts are determined by your intellectual capacity.

While being wise means using your intelligence in assessing what is going on with your heart or feelings. This process of feeling and thinking normally results to produce wisdom in whatever we do. The minds record what we hear and see, while the heart records all the experiences through all our senses including hearing and seeing.

Being wise therefore means using both the mind and the heart in evertything that we do. Being intelligent means using only our minds.

They differ in its effect and they can never be the same. Intelligence is a matter of the minds while wisdom is a matter that involves both the mind and the heart. The heart is a matter about feelings and experiences and emotions.

Being wise is being able to use your heart and minds in a perfect balance. To attain a perfect balance requires the intervention of the Divine Providence because wisdom by itself is a divine gift. We get that gift if we ask for it from God through our prayers.

Being intelligent means having a thought and being wise means its noble implementation. These are merely words which have a difference only at intellectual levels. They have a different meanings for philosophers, poets and thinkers. Its hard to state with examples all I can say is that for all of the above people intelligence may lead a person to good or bad but wisdom or being wise as u put it leads only to good. These both words mean the same. The only way u can differentiate is by observing people, whom u know, are in adversity. Only then u will be able to understand the differences and similarities.

Intelligence is simply knowledge. Wisdom is how you use that knowledge, and lessons you have learn along the way.

To boil it down to a very simple analogy - I could spend 20 years spending every day reading about car engines and how they work and what all the parts do. That doesn't make me a mechanic. Chances are, the first time I actually popped a hood and looked into a car, I wouldn't know what the hell to do.

But a guy who's never read a book, but spent 20 years up to his elbows in grease and learning all the idosyncraries and quirks of each and every type of engine, learning all the tricks that the books don't teach you - he is a mechanic.

The same rules apply to intelligence and wisdom. Wisdom is what you gain from putting your intelligence into practice and learning along the way.

I would say I am more wise than intelligent. I dont like intelligent people personally, alot of them are very arrogant
and selfish. I prefer the company of simple ignorant
folks these days. There is little difference in wisdom and
intelligence in my point of view. I hope this answers your
query.

I think the difference is between experience and rationalization. An intelligent man and a wise man may know the same things, but whereas the wise man has had to learn through a life of experience, the intelligent man was able to work it out for himself.

Intelligence indicates ones capacity to understand the mechanics of things, for example, numbers, letters, concepts.
Wisdom indicates that one has the capacity to recognize prudent behavior and views regarding things of the world.
Good examples of both intelligence and wisdom combined in people are Albert Einstein, Albert Schweitzer, Abraham Lincoln, Margaret Mead, Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King, Jr.
It is possible to be intelligent, but not wise. In the example above the answerer compared being able to make dynamite
as intelligence and wisdom as how to use it. I would differ slightly with that analogy. I would say that intelligence knows both how to make the dynamite and how to use it, but wisdom would know to throw it quickly after the fuse is lit!

Being intelligent doesn't necessarily mean you are wise! For example no one can say Hitler wasn't intelligent but you cannot compare him with Mahatma Ghandi, which was also wise! In order to be wise you must be intelligent but have many other qualities also, wisdom is an art of self control and world understanding, from managing your pride and knowledge of the world to understanding the human role in nature and the world itself! Intelligence is just let's say 5% of wisdom!! There are many intelligent people in the world but an wise man is worth them all!!

Intelligence can build a stick of dynamite for our use.
Wisdom would know how to use the stick of dynamite.
Wisdom, and intelligence can be found at the same time in one man, or woman.
A man or a woman can have intelligence without wisdom. A man or a woman can have wisdom without intelligence.
My preference for personal company would be an intelligent man or woman that is wise.
However if it came down to one or the other? I would prefer the company of a wise woman/man of no great intelligence; than that of an intelligent fool.

Intelligence is uncooked techniques ability. that's the skill on your techniques to understand info, resolve issues, think of interior the precis style and in any different case carry out each and all of the projects needed to comprehend rocket technology, techniques surgical treatment, and so on. awareness is your know-how of ways the international works. It ability understanding the best thank you to do issues. Having staying power, understanding stunning from incorrect, having your priorities right now, and so on. needless to say there is a few correlation between the two. They the two relate on your psychological ability. nevertheless, they do no longer seem to be constantly including another.
