Yes a different wattage will make a great deal of difference as any wattage might kill you. Electricity and water DO NOT MIX AND ARE LETHAL TOGETHER.

Unless this is a joke: these are two different animals from two different parts of the Universe. They have nothing in common with each other. other than they don't mix. So, unless you know more than this about home repairs I suggest you hire someone to do yours.
