In the news recently, 6/10 women think size zero is attractive, according to a new survey. The poll found that the majority of British women find the look desirable. The survey also found that almost all women (97%) believe size 12 is "fat".The same number would rather have friends who are fatter than them, and 76% admit they are jealous of slimmer friends.

Now the question is....do you think that size 12 is fat? Would you feel great if you were skinnier than your friends and what do you think your ideal size would be that you call slim?

No I certainly do not think size 12 is fat at all. Size 12 is actually quite slim & very womanly. Size 0 is absolutely disgusting & size 6 & 8 are too small also - I think it looks extremeley unattractive & most men I know think so as well. They do not like 'the bag of bones' look. They would much prefer to have some meat on the bone if you know what I mean. It would be nice to be as slim as your freinds providing they were a healthy size. If they were a size 0, 6 or 8 I would not want to be the same size as them. I think the ideal size is size 10 but size 12 is nice also. I am pregnant at the moment so am huge (in a nice way) but hope to get back to a size 10 after the baby has been born but I'm not going to make it a major priority, there are more important things in life than worrying about what size you are. As long as you are happy in yourself then that's what counts. Real beauty comes from within.

At 5ft11 and 75kg no one would ever call me fat. Tall, slim, racing snake, beanpole maybe but never fat. Yet I'm a 12/14 so according to that research I'm fat. To be honest I would much rather be a 12 than a zero anyday. Zero just says it all really.

It is funny really that the average British woman is now a size 14 and yet everyone things the skin and bones look is attractive. The fashion media have a lot to say for this. Especially when 6/10 men prefer a woman to have curves to a skeleton.

For me the ideal shape would be boobs about the same size as hips and waist suitably smaller than both. When waistline is bigger than hips you know you have a problem

No, those survey results are just ridiculous.

A size 12 isn't even remotely fat, unless the measurements: 36 inch bust, 28 inch waist and 38 inch hips are considered to be fat! Depending on height and build it may vary as to how slim it looks, but it will NEVER be fat.

My ideal size would be meaurements 36-25-37, which is a size 12 bust, size 8 waist and size 10 hips lol.

HTH : )

No, i may only be young but size zero models look disgusting especially when they don't eat in order to keep that look. People who are naturally size zero can't do anything about it, and i feel sorry for them. Size 12 is NOT fat. I'm still only a teen and my ideal size would be size 8, right now I'm 8/10, and i really don't mind. It shouldn't matter how fat or skinny your friends are, those shallow people should know that freinds love you for who you are on the inside not the outside, and you should love them like that too.

My sister used to be a 14 and she looked so healthy and stunning shes now a 12 aswell the perfect size for her, size 12 is not fat its curvy and thats what we should have in models! my friends are size 12 and some size 10, they are happy with who they are, who wants to be stick thin its gross!
Be happy with who you are not how the world wants to portray you!

In the UK yeah, because they seem to be so slim and a size 0 attractive gross!! A woman should have some meat on her or curves that is what looks sexy and how you carry yourself of course. Size 10-12 is like a medium build I would not consider that fat and your height with weight makes a big difference!! What I would call slim is a size 4-8.

There is a lot of factors involved in this question. It all depends on your height and bone structure. I am five foot one-half inch, and weigh about 98-105. I can wear a size 2,4 and sometimes a 6 depending on what it is, and how it is made. At my height, I would be FAT FAT FAT IF I wore a size 12. However, on a woman five foot, ten inches or more with a medium bone structure she wouldn't be fat. Guess it all hinges on what you call fat? I sure don't want to look like Nicole Ritchie. Basically, I do consider a size 12 kind of fat. I am skinnier than any of my friends, and I love it. I think my ideal size is a four petite. If I ever get to 105 pounds I cut back on high calorie foods for a few days, and I can lose the extra weight easily. A size 0 makes me look sick and anorexic.

a size 12 is fine and very average in size for the UK. Infact most common is a size 14. Don't be trapped into believing you are fat. you are not. And a size zero is nit attractive at all. many I've seen look ill.

Most men like to see a curvy figure not a load of skin and bone.

I think I read somewhere that size 16 is the UK average. So then that would make size 12 not fat at all lol.

Here is a link I just found - looks like size 16 is the average:

So that makes a 12 look 'thinnish' don't you think ;)
