gasolines have different colors not only to distinguish octane levels but also different taxable rates subject to intended purpose of the gas,for instance i am a truck driver,i use diesel that is green,but there is also diesel that is red it is used for off road use,therefor it is taxed differently,it is a dye that makes the color

If you are using red colored gasoline it is most likely leaded, and that is a dye.

We can't buy it any more where I live. It does pretty much dirty up the atmosphere.

if ur using electronic Fuel Injection type car,. better dont use red color gas (leaded).. it will dirty all the engine exhaust exit and make ur 02 sensor fillup with carbon deposits.. after that.. u guess
